Periodontics (Gum Disease)

Periodontal disease is a chronic disease caused by bacteria under gum tissue. Gingivitis is inflammation and associated bleeding and tenderness. Periodontal disease is diagnosed when this bacteria causes bone and tissue loss around teeth. If left untreated, teeth often become mobile and are eventually lost. Our hygienists are excellent at diagnosing and treating the multiple stages of disease. Upon initial exam we will explain the severity of your disease and the recommended treatment. Our main focus is education and instruction. After our treatment, follow-up home care is essential. With your improved oral hygiene we can make great strides towards a healthy mouth.
